terrible defense to allow the nats to score in the first place. homer scorekeepers count all 4 runs as earned when it really should've been 2. he takes another loss and the line looks a lot worse than it should.

He allowed the earned runs today, 2 unearned. Sorry, he got the contract, he is not above criticism. A near 5 era is good for a 5 starter, not the staff ace getting 144 million.

Two games Cole was shut-out 2-0 against Miami and Pittsburgh. Cole pitched 14 innings against the AAA Marlins given up only 1 run in which the Phils lost both games. That is the whole story right there.

You get the big bucks, a 5 era is not acceptable

Posting his stats because so many people seem allergic to looking them up.

Dumb post: he put up seven innings of zeroes
Originally posted by Brandonn View PostAces dont need 5 runs to score. the offense is bad, has been for years. He needs to get out there, throw some zeros up and go deeper into games. Giving up three runs in 6 innings is a waste of 144 million
Yeah, what a waste.Officially awaiting Douchebagnacht II since

I don't have quite the dire outlook on the guy as you do, but to your point, Cole has given up at least one run before the 5th inning in every game he's started this season except this most recent start against the Nats.
I still think he's an elite pitcher, he's just not pitching like it right now.
