  • cole really got fucked today

terrible defense to allow the nats to score in the first place. homer scorekeepers count all 4 runs as earned when it really should've been 2. he takes another loss and the line looks a lot worse than it should.

There's a reason the Rangers ate 10 million dollars to get rid of Michael Young. He's a has been and a double play machine. Don't even get me started on Delmon Young.

cole pitched well today but he got a raw deal. and he pitched well in his last start. excluding his disastrous first two starts of the season, his era is 3.27. that includes at least 2 runs today that shouldn't have counted, another 2 that were the defense's fault, and a bad start against the indians a couple weeks ago. he needs some help.

He allowed the earned runs today, 2 unearned. Sorry, he got the contract, he is not above criticism. A near 5 era is good for a 5 starter, not the staff ace getting 144 million.

Cole has the worst run support by far. 19 runs by this line-up in 69 innings pitched by Coles for losses. Outside of the 1st game of the season against Kansas City, this line-up run support has been a measly 1.37.

Two games Cole was shut-out 2-0 against Miami and Pittsburgh. Cole pitched 14 innings against the AAA Marlins given up only 1 run in which the Phils lost both games. That is the whole story right there.

He isnt getting run support, that is not on question. He also isnt pitching well. He is the ace of the staff making 144 million. He is only averaging 6 innings and has not had one game where he shut a team down, not one. Even in his best game against the mets, he still only went 6 innings.

You get the big bucks, a 5 era is not acceptable

Posting his stats because so many people seem allergic to looking them up.

I see 6 games on that list in which he gave up 3 runs or less that were losses. Coles should have a record of at least 7-3 despite some bad performances which blew up his era.

Aces dont need 5 runs to score. the offense is bad, has been for years. He needs to get out there, throw some zeros up and go deeper into games. Giving up three runs in 6 innings is a waste of 144 million

what a stupid post. He is now up to 60 innings consecutive without pitching with a lead!

                        Yeah, what a waste.

but hardly a waste to resign him.

Its hard to get a lead when the other team ALWAYS gets the lead by scoring early. Cole has become a 6 inning pitchers with a near 5 era, how he has become blameless boggles my mind

I don't have quite the dire outlook on the guy as you do, but to your point, Cole has given up at least one run before the 5th inning in every game he's started this season except this most recent start against the Nats.

I still think he's an elite pitcher, he's just not pitching like it right now.
