  • Linc renovations aka fixing the fuck ups

Adding 1600 seats to the NE corner to fill the stupid hole there.

Adding bridges to the upper deck so fans can travel all the way around the stadium.

    Wiring place for wifi

All things they should have done at the first build but glad they are doing now

Supposedly done by next year prior to start of season.

When it comes to fixing the fuck ups regarding this team, the stadium is at the bottom of the list. They need to make more of an effort in winning a Super Bowl not hosting one.

The Eagles couldn't care less about what we want ... except to the extent it makes them money.

That's why they're installing wifi (with the rest of the league) ... fans are staying home where they can log on while watching HDTV.

The good news is that Eagle management also wants to win a Super Bowl as a function of how it would make them money.

So we can take solace in having the same ultimate objective in that way.

Does it really matter what their motivation is? The NFL didn't become the world's most financially successful sports league by philanthropy alone. You're right- they are pressed into making these changes because fans are starting to make a choice between forking $$$$ for the game or sitting in the comforts of home.

Wait until the NFL starts making all local team games pay-per-view.

Hosting the SB may be the closest we get to a Lombardi for a while.

They built their stadium like they build their team. Both come at the expense of the fans. Those that continue to pay their annual sucker tax for this disgrace of an organization deserve these inconveniences. I have Wifi, perfect seating in my living room and a clear path to my bathroom and fridge. The only goals this team has is making money and winning Oscars.

This is all good but they if they are increasing seating they also need to increase other infrastructure like restrooms, etc.

There will still be three open holes in the stadium.

Is wifi going to be free or are they going to charge for it? I was at Barclay's center last night and they have free wifi there. But I didn't use it. Just used my cell phone.

                I agree with you.

But do you remember when Joe Banner was talking about how going the Super Bowl actually cost the Eagles money?

Looks like they are covering two of the holes. Still not ideal, but should be an improvement in keeping sound in.

                  Or they are doing three:

In order to reach their goal of adding 1,600 seats the Eagles will fill in the three open corners of Lincoln Financial Field. They plan to install approximately 800 seats in the SW corner, 600 in the NE corner and 200 in the NW corner.

I suspect for some part they are adding seating where people used to stand for standing room tickets.

I approve of the bridges in the other areas, but it's not really "fixing a hole" (sorry, I saw Paul McCartney last night). It appears they will not add seating there but they will probably have concession carts on the bridges to increase revenue and it might be new standing room places.

The NE corner of the stadium always had seating in the "pepsi zone". They are just adding to it.

Overall, I think these are improvements but I'm not excited.

Did I indicate I give a shit about their motivation?

Did I further indicate I didn't understand capitalism?

BTW, before you start suggesting sky-is-falling PPV scenarios, you might want to consider the NFL's interest in not pissing off Congress into taking a harder look at the league's already suspect tax status, along with the American Needle antitrust decision.

From those images it appears they are partially filling in the hole in the SW corner of the stadium. I totally approve of that. That location was a perfect place for somebody to launch a rocket launcher terrorist attack off of I-95!

I'm curious about these new seats. Will they require PELs? Even though I am in the lower level, some of the seats in the new areas will probably have a much better view because of the terrible pitch and the way seats are laid out in my section.
