As a white man, I guarantee you if Trayvon Martin was the one who shot that fat murderer & claimed self-defense he'd be on death row right now. Dispicable verdict.

Based on what the jury had for evidence and testimony, the verdict was right.

Prosecutors should have focused on a manslaughter conviction from the beginning or pivoted to that when they knew they couldn't prove murder. Based on the facts, manslaughter would have been a fair and obtainable verdict, IMO, but they blew it. That seems o be happening a lot lately.

I always thought if they went with involuntary manslaughter they could have gotten him found Guilty on that. As usual the outrage and pressures from outside groups made the Prosecutor go for a charge he couldn't make stick based on the evidence they had.

Right, I mean, you carry a gun and play cop and take actions that lead to an altercation and someone ends up dying by your gun - to me, it's hard to say that's not negligence. I believe if they had focused on hammering that point home they could have gotten the jury to look past the self defense claim. It would have just been a common sense verdict. Just my opinion.

Even after everything the prosecution did to f*ck the trial I still think they could have gotten him for manslaughter... Can't believe he walks...

If I was on that Town Watch and saw anyone suspicious I would call 911 give the description and where I last saw him and when the operator told me to back off I would back off and wait for police. Also, I wouldn't have had a loaded gun! I'm all for Town Watches but you just can't profile people and there is no way to know if Trayvon was up to no good that night because he had a hoodie on and looked like he didn't belong.

Perhaps a more intelligent response would be a fat joke or to throw eggs at eagles fans

but after reading some of the stuff, it seems like manslaughter would have been a slam dunk ...and punishable up to 15 years.
