Prosecutors should have focused on a manslaughter conviction from the beginning or pivoted to that when they knew they couldn't prove murder. Based on the facts, manslaughter would have been a fair and obtainable verdict, IMO, but they blew it. That seems o be happening a lot lately."Listen to McCarthy" - Art Vandelay

Right, I mean, you carry a gun and play cop and take actions that lead to an altercation and someone ends up dying by your gun - to me, it's hard to say that's not negligence. I believe if they had focused on hammering that point home they could have gotten the jury to look past the self defense claim. It would have just been a common sense verdict. Just my opinion.Last edited by McCarthy12; 07-13-2013, 11:14 PM."Listen to McCarthy" - Art Vandelay

If I was on that Town Watch and saw anyone suspicious I would call 911 give the description and where I last saw him and when the operator told me to back off I would back off and wait for police. Also, I wouldn't have had a loaded gun! I'm all for Town Watches but you just can't profile people and there is no way to know if Trayvon was up to no good that night because he had a hoodie on and looked like he didn't belong.
