        I didn't say I support it

Just think it's a silly attribute to get worked up about. What is the solution, pass laws on how much people can be paid? If so, shouldn't it also apply to sports professionals, actors, and others that make ridiculous amounts of money?

20-1 in 1965. Capitalism is ultimately a dead end. When there arent enough good paying jobs left, something will give.

I think we can all agree that $7.25 is not a wage you can live on

but $15.00 for dropping fries ?

Zero sum game? Seriously USA has less social mobility than most "western" counties.
Costco seems to be able to pay living wages and remain very profitable. Those that don't could give a single fuck about their employees or the economy as a whole.

If capitalism is a dead end, then what isn't?

Apparently you have no issue with pro athletes and movie stars making 1000 times more than the average joe in their fields?

Any job that has been streamlined by a corporation should allow for the worker's to collectively bargain. The fact that fast food joints all over the country have fought the rights of those workers for years tells you all you need to know about the sustainability of the business models of those companies.

Every single one of those people you mentioned enjoy the modern luxury of collective bargaining. They are represented by some of the most powerful unions in the world. It does beg the question why isn't the hated burger flipper entitled to the same luxury when he struggles to get to that next rung on the ladder?

                        So unions are the problem?

Why pro athletes and actors make so much more than the chumps? Interesting theory...

Wow, that is clever and insightful.

I always wondered why Jeff Lurie is so poor. Now I see, it's the fucking union thugs who have been squeezing him dry all these years. Thanks for clearing it up.

The reason capitalism is a dead end is because it ultimately will eliminate all labor costs - meaning jobs - through technology. Then there will be no choice but to provide food, housing, health care for the unemployed. There won't be any jobs. And lifespans will go up up up. Post scarcity economy.

Not relevant to our generation but almost certainly the future if we don't blow ourselves up.

The entertainment industry probably survives but that's trivial economically.

you've been watching too many sci-fi movies

Technology has to be developed, maintained, improved by people. UNless you think the world will go the way of the terminator movies. In that case, doesn't matter what economic system we have

What's Lurie have to do with anything?

We're talking about his employees and the inequity in their pay. Off topic
