Easy on that yogurt. My point was that chip ball at the college level is very successful. Defenses can't handle it. So the offense, NFL caliber or not, will be hard to stop. And last year, the QB kept the ball and ran with it over 200 times.

And take a look at some video and watch Brady when he gets to the line and looks at the D and then calls the play or an audible. He is the reason they wind up in the Playoffs almost every year. Can you see Vick walking to the line, making a correct decision and executing it successfully? If you do , put down the yogurt and move to something in a glass.

I think it goes one step further in that the TV networks control the tempo of the game and the refs are just the ones charged with making sure TV is happy. We have documented evidence of NFL refs telling NFL coaches to call more timeouts so they could get in more commercials....

When the Umpire was moved from behind the Middle Linebacker to behind the QB, that change didn't come from the players, the teams, the coaches, the refs or anybody else- it came from TV

TV wanted the added protection for starting QBs because backup QBs= drop in ratings

TV controls the tempo of the game and they have sold rights to putting ads on the screen in between plays

Chip- ball fucks with their plans to pump more ads into the broadcast-

Changes in the modern NFL aren't too difficult to figure out once you learn to follow the money...

That's a good point. I guess I'm curious how tempo will affect TV that much. I suppose ubiquitous advertising like the X-Brand Drive of the Game and commentary could be affected. But with regard to time-outs, change of possession, etc. - would that change all that much? I think it could add more due to drives ending more quickly with either success or failure.
