We're paying Vick $13 mil this year and he'll be a free agent next year. What's the chances of the Eagles re-signing Vick for cheap money? I don't see Vick with this team next year. He's also 33 years old QB.

Foles is making around $3 mil and is only 24 years old. We've already know what Vick is capable of and we've already know Vick isn't the answer for this team. WTF do we keep on wasting time with him while letting our young QBs of the future rot on the bench???

Time to actually see what Chip offense will be like in a read option with a QB that can actually read???
      Mother FUCK FOLES

Why are you guys so enthused about a guy most teams would trade for a 5th rounder to the Cleveland Browns? And after yesterday's (expected debacle), why even blame the QB?!! What about the "cardboard cutout" defense?

Open WRs not named DJax? Like who? I know you don't mean Riley KKKooper, who has no business starting on an NFL team. His best feature is the ability to block. Bryce Brown was a much better receiver yesterday than any other non-DJax WR yesterday. The damn TEs dropped everything that went in their direction just about.

This team just isn't very good.

Now if this is a plea for a tank? I'm all for it. But I'm tired of this focus on Vick where he isn't playing nearly as bad as he was last season (and a lot of that had to do with the predictability and stubbornness of Andy + a depleted O-Line).

      Foles.

      Seriously.

      FOH.

Ah Vick Sucks = you to will realize this along with all the Vick suckers deeper into the season. -- Its hard I know but you will learn to accept that fact that Vick sucks just like the Mcnabb suckers who fought the idea that their idol sucked too.

Actually Vick is making little over 7 million -

Foles is making about 750,000 this year and next

Vick is a $12.5M smokescreen Pederson. We won't know the real plan until next year, at least. It might be money well spent.

Anyone who knows this team already knew the Eagles were not going to compete this year. For all anyone knows, Foles might be the new Pederson next year. It's only when the Eagles get past the Pederson stage that the Eagles are ready to realistically attempt to compete for the playoffs. That's only determined in hindsight.

In the meantime, there's nothing left but to enjoy letting Vick make his Eagles highlight reel, ignore the lowlights, and wait for the real strategy to be revealed. If there's another strategic train wreck in the making, no one can know that right now, so patience is all that's left.

Pretty much sucks, but it's all you get with a new start.

              This is getting redundant

              Hmmmmmm, let's see :

93.2 QB rating, completing over half of his passes (55.1%), averaging 270 passing yards per game, 5 TD to 2 INT, averaging 8.8 yards per rush, with two rushing TD's. Yep, it's all Vick's fault. Let thrown Foles in there, and trot out the same horrible, soft, pussified defense that's been getting shredded for 4 weeks. Damn you Vick, damn you to hell.

You say completing over half of his passes like it's something to brag about. I don't think it's all vick's fault but he has played in line with his shitty team the last two weeks.

If you are constantly missing open rec. that could further the drive, or, you can't read the D's scheme, all the stats in the world don't mean shit.

BTW, I think that 55% is lower than what Foles did last year, with a FAR worst line.

I don't hate Vick, and I will admit he is a warrior and takes a beating, but he is what he always was, a big play QB, I'm sure that Chipper just loves watching Vick flick that ball 40 yards in practice, just like all these guys did,

                  Dan Reeves
                  Wade Phillips
                  Jim Mora,
Bobby Petrino (Vick suspended from play)
                  Andy Reid
                  Chip Kelly

little over 7 million -- not 12.5 million

The defense is the issue, here. Not Vick.

The D IS a problem, but so is putting up ONLY 13 points in OVER three quarters. That in no way "helps" the D.

He is an essential cog in the fuck up merry go round that this team has become. One week it's the defense, one week it's vick, one week it's the o line, one week it's drops, one week it's special teams and last week it was everything. Vick shouldn't get a pass for the simple fact that he misses or doesnt see plays every nfl qb should. His athleticness and ability to make plays on his own can't make up for that, there is no sustainability to scrambling.

The point of this thread was benching Vick in favor of Foles. My point of contention is that Vick is not the number one problem with this team, as is being suggested by ashaman. Everyone here wants to play the role of talent evaluator and proclaim that they know exactly what Vick is or isn't doing when they don't. Does he share in the blame ? Absolutely. I'm just saying that we could start at the defense and work our way down the list from there.

for me i don't hate vick...he really is a warrior and has turned his life around that i can tell...but at the same time...i'm seeing a 33 year old qb do the same things that he did when he was 23.

he's not going to get any better...he is what he is.

to me...i would rather go with foles or barkley to see what a younger qb can do...most likely they are trash and have to go qb next year...but i would be far more interested in this team watching one of them then watching vick.

this is still a garbage team...they were 4-12 last year and are probably no better than 6-10 with vick and probably 5-11 with foles or barkley...so what's the point?

i know as a player and a coach no one wants to lose and they want to go to the playoffs and i get that...but as a fan i see that they stink and i'm just waiting to see when they realize it and try to move forward.

                                You can't bench the defense

You can replace one of the issues and see if foles can play the position better. Consistency at qb goes a long way. You have to ride with what you have at defense for the most part. Vick isn't going to be part of the long term plan anyway, foles still can be. I'm certainly no evaluator of talent but I know obvious mistakes when I see them. They wouldn't be so glaring if other parts of this piece of shit team would pick up some slack.
