The only thing palpable is the hatred that TU has for not being the first modern school to win the tournament.

You are quick to blame 80's era decisions on a small catholic school trying to survive in a Big Time college athletic conference yet TU can do no wrong in failed pursuit of FBS glory.

Really a Dallas analogy? Its a little pompous and phony to project that only the self described "hard scrabble working men" of the inner city school can bleed green. That's low hanging fruit

Three Softball Players Were From Schools We Cover

Softball is the only one of my "beats" that's involved and three of the current players are from this area. One's a senior so she'll get her final year in, but the other two are a freshman and a sophomore. I believe the students affected by this have the option to transfer without penaly so it looks like I have some calls to make.

My first reaction was, "Is 3 million bucks going to make that much of a diference to a University that will still have over 1 BILLION DOLLARS IN EXPENSES THIS FISCAL YEAR??"

      Get real!!

isn't the temple men's gymnastics team really good? serious question.

one of my buddies told me about making the trip to temple for baseball. apparently the field could be described as being in subpar condition.

I've got a colleague at work who was on the Temple gymnastic team. I've never seen him so worked up about anything like this before.

Oddly, there's a noticeable lack of remorse, regret or upset on the part of the Temple contingent here. The fact that mainliners are gleeful shouldn't obviate the suggestion of self-reflection and maybe aiming some of that anger at the school's ham-fisted administration. It shouldn't be Temple Right Or Wrong.

By no means am I happy or proud of the move, but it's the unfortunate nature of college sports. Football and basketball bring in the $$$ and the TU decision makers have determined that trying to get the football program to a higher level is the move. I don't agree, but as an alum who donates but not enough to have my name on a building, there's not much I can do about it.

I Don't Know About Now But Many Moons Ago It Was #1

Not number 1 in the country or anything but someplace boys in this area really wanted to go. Neshaminy used to have the best boys gymnastics teams in the area and we had a "sidehorse" specialist (show you how long ago it was) who was amazing. He had the best form I've ever seen -- never once bent his legs, kept them together and perfectly straight all the time as he did his routine.

He earned a scholarship to Temple.

I need to go on record with that? Track and Field? Beisbol? Softball? Ostensibly all the main spring sports. Totally sucks and to build an on-campus football stadium ? Makes zero sense.

Like I said...I assumed that went without saying...but now Im on the record.

OK back to bashing the Lame Line.

He called you out, as well. Why don't you acknowledge that?

RSE and I are probably the only guys on the bored who talk track and field. He knows I would not be happy about the sport being dropped.

I love when a hyprocrite calls hypocrisy. Like backing Nova's attempt to block Temple from the Big East and then approving while they participated in blowing up the league.

                                pathetic.
