Thats delusional. Most incidents of gun violence are committed by previously law abiding people. I'd bet you could find one most every day.

I didn't post those, because they weren't front page news for CNN. I don't go around looking for homicide stories, this one was front and center. Also, being that I'm a resident of Ohio, I don't normally find myself reading the friggin LA Times to see what's going on out there. I'll leave that to our West Coast correspondent, 3rd and Inches. This is Florida, a state where people are allowed to kill other people if they feel the slightest threat, and how much money do you want to bet that this man will invoke that dumb ass "stand your ground" rule to try and skate on murdering someone who hit him with popcorn ? Agenda. Child, please......

EDIT : I have ALWAYS stated that I am not anti-gun, however, I don't see any logical reason that Joe Blow from down the block should be able to have an AK-47, or any other high powered assault weapon that should really be reserved for the police or military. The only real purpose for a gun like that is to kill a lot of people in a little bit of time. I know it, and so do you.

The discussion is on people that have concealed carry permits. Their contribution to gun homicides is very small, less than one tenth the homicides committed with knives.

Was against concealed carry permit gun owners. Anti-gun nuts like to use these rare occurances as evidence that they are a major problem, when in fact knives are exponentially more responsible for homicides than concealed carry permit guns. Regarding this case the guy might try to use a stand-your-ground defense but don't be ridiculous, this nut is not getting off.

Was found standing over the body of the kid that he killed with gun in hand. He got off.

The facts in that case have been debated ad infinitum

Very little in common with this case.

But they were both in florida and florida has a "stand your ground law". That means they are the same.

                    One person has a gun

                    The other does not.

                    One person felt "threatened"

The person who felt threatened is ironically the one who has the gun.

Both people who have guns shoot and kill the person who is unarmed.

there are only two differences. One murder victim was young and Black, the other was young and White. One victim had popcorn, the other had Skittles and tea.

                    Everything else is the same.

Attempts have been made to address urban crime and gun ownership issues but they have rightly been fought by the pro-gun side on the basis that they violate the constitution. There really isn't anything that can be done if we have a baseline level of gun rights that means no matter what a city does guns will be widely and easily available a short drive away.

The gun side is right on the legal arguments there, but it's purely retarded douchebaggery to suggest anti-gun folks haven't tried.

One victim didn't bash the shooters head onto a concrete sidewalk before he got shot.

Remember folks, if an armed stranger is following your kid in their car at night and then gets out of it to chase after them, make sure your kid knows never, ever to resist them.

A kid is walking through the neighborhood, minding his own business, not attempting to commit any crimes or anything like that, and some yahoo that wants to be a cop starts following him, based on nothing else than the clothes he was wearing. The man thinks the situation is dangerous enough to call 911, but instead of letting THEM handle it, he approaches the kid, never identifies himself as the neighborhood watch captain, and starts asking all sorts of questions. I'm sure if Screamin came across someone he didn't know while walking in a particular neighborhood, and that person started asking all kinds of questions as to why Screamin was there, he'd willingly comply and answer every question thoroughly. Zimmerman stays in his car like he was instructed to, and no one gets murdered. Period.

Turned this into a Martin thread. It hasn't been discussed or argued enough. Every time someone dies from gun violence in Florida I hope we can go back and see how guilty Zimmerman really was.
