They're not taking points off the table, they're telling the TD is worth 6 if you go for two or 7 if you don't.

that a TD is truly worth 7. Either make the extra play meaningful or don't play it at all. Risking a point for 2 is effectively what happens now. I'd almost rather see snow-bowl like forced 2 point conversions so there's twice as many plays to be entertained by.

But I think the goal is to allow more teams into the back door and win games.

So if you put the ball under your pillow, the extra point ferry comes and gives you the PAT during the commercial break?

That's bullshit. A TD is worth 6 points. In your McMahon approved scenario you award a team another point for doing nothing. If they choose to go for a two point conversion you first take a point off the board and then give them two if they make it.

P.S. Eliminating the extra point all together makes much more sense than this stupid notion of taking one away but awarding two on a successful two point try.

C'mon just admit it, they don't want to f*ck with the gamblers. Adding the possible -1/+2 scenario is only going to encourage the gamblers. And maybe that's what McGoodell wants?

Furthermore, just imagine all of the possibilities for fucked up decisions by the Zebras coming into play if these rules were to go into place.

I can see where this is going.

                    What?

You think lines are effected by people concerned about missed extra points.

                    Stop complicating it.

TD worth 6 if you go for 2, 7 if you don't.

Eliminates what has become an automatic time waster.

If it actually makes the game go faster ... I'm all for it.

                      Well, we totally disagree.

                        I'm sorry ... I think you're wrong.

It's a new rule ... you view it from the perspective that an extra point is some essential feature of football ... I don't.

You can't stymie a golfer anymore by putting your ball between his and the hole on the green.

                        Golf survived.

How are the Zebras going to be worse than they already are if this rule exists?

If this idea was so great it would have been adopted in the NFL when Vince McMahon first implemented it in the XFL 15 years ago.

It's all about reducing the number of special teams players required and increasing the number of games per season.

How does it eliminate a special teams player?

Is the concept of less special teams plays per game equals less special teams players needed so difficult to understand?
