We're very much alike
I agree with everything you're saying. But wasn't that "Anthony works in a grocery store" shit before Innocent Man? I don't like that shit. "A bottle of red, a bottle of white, it all depends upon your ahhhhhh-petighttttt." Come on, that shit sucks. Makes me want to commit Harry Kalas on myself with a sword.

Number of artists have a line like that ... for Elton John the line is Yellow Brick Road for me ... anything after that is meh ... up to and before is fucking great.
Springsteen is for me like Joel for you ... hit or big miss.
I like Tenth Ave Freeze Out ... can't stand Rosilita.
The Grateful Dead are another band with a rabid following that I never got ... I like a few songs the rest are meh.WELCOME TO THE PHILA. SPORTS FANISM. WIN, WE LOVE YA, LOSE,WE LOVE YA, BUT YOU'RE A DICK FOR LOSING.

The classic Philly sports fan mindset. It's not right or wrong - it is what it is. Both a shame and a mantle of pride. Love and hate in constant turmoil.

I saw Bruce on my 21st birthday at the Nassau Coliseum. That show rocked.
I saw him again over twenty years later from a skybox at MSG. As we were waiting at the elevator bank leaving the show, I heard a guy say, "I saw Paul Anka in Vegas. Springsteen is no Paul Anka."
