It might be better to just turn the page and let the team be terrible for a couple of years, but on the other hand if the team stays healthy for a while they might be able to keep it interesting. Of course this news comes out at the same time it turns out Hamels' is going to miss at least a few starts...

As long as it's 1 year with no vesting option, I'm finewith it.

              A RAJLO special
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

I thought the Cuban was the big signing.

Spent all that money on someone they had never seen pitch.

                bwahahaha

I would be psyched about it if this were 2009.

I'm just hoping he pitches well enough that they can trade him for some low to mid level prospect to a contender at the deadline when they are way out of it. Then again, we know how that went last year. RAJ!

I can't stand that overpaid underachieving piece of shit! The Blue Jays signed him to a big contract about 8 years ago that was undeserving. He then bolted when he had his option to the Skankees in 08 and won a world series. I can't cheer this signing or this fucking douche bag at all. He is a bum

i'll agree with this. we have too many old players but a 1-year deal doesn't harm the future.

dude definitely was a bum with the yankees. how convenient that the entire lineup forgot how to hit against him in game 2 of the world series.

I will never understand this mentality. They have a talented nucleus. If they remain healthy there's no reason it cant be a very entertaining beisbol season in South Philly. If they are buried by the all star break then absolutely sell off everybody you possibly can...but they have a chance to be good.
