The NCAA defines the rule as: "Under the revised block/charge call in men's basketball, a defensive player is not permitted to move into the path of an offensive player once he has started his upward motion with the ball to attempt a field goal or pass. If the defensive player is not in legal guarding position by this time, it is a blocking foul."
Do you think Fair is in an upward motion before Hood is set?

The funny thing about it is

I thought the defender was moving into Fair when Fair was in the air ... but I read that it's not in the air (I thought it was) ... it's the start of the upward move.
Regardless ... based on how they've called all year, as the play happened in real speed I thought it was a no call.Obscenity is the last refuge of an inarticulate motherfucker.

Not a Duke fan.
But I find whining about home cooking, especially by 'coos fans, to be comical.John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

After discussing it, so far I believe: the ref was in a perfect position to make a call (if he wasn't, a no-call would make sense); there was sufficient, straight-line contact that warranted a call; and since a call was warranted, I believe Hood was set before Fair established upward movement.
