Guess I missed that, but I like it

Those two set the bar high - should be interesting to see where they go next. And no danger of characters jumping the shark

My one complaint is that the season is only 8 episodes long. How could they cheap us out of 4 extra episodes??

so the child sacrificing serial killer could remain undetected for 30 years but couldn't paint a house without getting paint all over both his ears?

Cinematic brilliance on the small screen is rare

Dark stuff, though, right before bed. Tough to get a good nights sleep with this imagery in my head, but well worth eight Sundays. Some of the finest TV we've ever seen. Can't wait for next season either!

This is my hope as well. They will probably be able to get good actors but it will be hard to duplicate the chemistry those two had. It will be almost impossible to top that IMO.

Side note: Found out over the weekend that i went to high school with the guy who did the production design (did Beasts of Southern Wild as well). Had no idea. What's even cooler is that my buddy's daughter did the artwork in Marty's daughter's room and the church. Pretty cool that she got to contribute to one of the best seasons of television ever (even if she won't be allowed to watch it for some time).

I loved the show but I was disappointed by the finale. I guess I just expected some crazy plot twist and when it never happened I felt cheated.

Like I said though, great show, can't wait to see what they do for season two. It's been rumored that the two lead detectives will be female.

I like how hart and cohle's relationship was outlined in the show. That was my favorite part, not quite the obvious yin and yang but still petty awesome to watch. Mm killed me though. Right down to the last line, I cant be the only one who has trouble hearing his low mumbles. I have to go back and watch the series again, there are some things that I havent tied together.
