I like it. He's not a bad player at all.

I do too. Tackle machine, very good in the box. Might be the end of the Byrd hunt.

Don't like the missed tackles (16 last year) but hopefully he's an upgrade over Chung/Allen

Now some are tweeting that Birds may not be done at safety today.

Part of the reason for the missed tackles is that he is SO aggressive. He loves to lay the wood and tries to get his nose in the play constantly, often to the point of overrunning a play. He's more of a high-risk signing - he's been really up and down, so I'm hoping he can fit into the scheme well.

EDIT: Another thing is his attitude - I think he fits the traditional Philly mold well - plays with a chip on his shoulder, really nasty, intense.

Only 26, 60+ starts and won a super bowl. Also read he can play FS and SS so Byrd may not be out of the picture.

Well that's excited Jekins and Byrd?

That would be the cherry on top of a great day

Or is that asking too much?

hbg - read that elsewhere about him, I like it.. has to be an upgrade

Had to sign somebody at safety. Better than Chung and Allen. Still could draft Poyer.

Jenkins has all the excitement of signing Bradley Fletcher last year. Not splashy but the guy didn't suck... completely. Similar move.

This is all I could find...

The other safety signing will be Mike Mitchell. Book it. I hope I'm wrong.

...Allen might work as ST player 3rd stringer....but only if we believe we can't hire or draft better.

I'm not a huge safety expert...but always felt that when I saw the Saints, I "liked" Malcolm Jenkins, so I guess I'm cool with it.

Basically anyone is better than the Chung/Allen who was worst prob worst starting safety in the league
