  • I admit I'm no expert on Malcolm Jenkins

But from everything I read about him, he's a jack of all DB trades and a master of none. That makes him an upgrade (perhaps even a substantial upgrade) over the busts, chumps and jackoffs we've had there in recent years.

Some football geeks say his numbers don't tell his story. They suggest his stats against the pass don't account for the fact that he's been asked to cover TE's and slot receivers much more often that most safeties. His tackling needs to improve--and maybe he is what he is and it won't--but perhaps some of his missed tackles are due in part to having to break off from deep coverage to provide run support more than lining up in the box.

Most significantly, it sounds like he has the smarts, communication and leadership skills this team has been lacking for some time to make the entire secondary better.

He's no Byrd, but it appears he's no Chung, Coleman, Allen, Sims, Jarrett, Page, Demps, Jones, Harris either. Well, one can hope.

He also must've been willing to put himself through Chip's grueling training program. I don't see some of the top dollar diva talents being willing to do that.

You are making waaaay too much sense.

I am by no means a Howie Hand-Releaser, but I much prefer the solid, reasonably priced upgrade over Chung that still gives the Eagles the chance to extend the core players during and after this upcoming season.

I've read about him and he's a great person on and off of the field. Gotta be a solid addition...

If so, it was an accident I'm sure.

Then stopped and backed up over it again.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
