Root of the problem ?
Why are the dogs barking ? ....because they are dogs...
Try spending a couple bucks on a fence-window so they can see what's on the other side of the fence - sometimes that's enough to get them to mellow out. If nothing else, it shows the neighbors you're making an effort
Letters are for people who want to avoid confrontation; but that's all they ever cause is more conflict. Grow a pair and talk to the people. Just prepare a couple of options ahead of time and consider some professional training too - (for all the dogs...) There's a solution here, but you might have to try a couple things or even toss some cash at it. BFD, its better than living next to people who are always pissed at one another

Edit: I've never tried them, but I hear the Citronella and Ultrasonic collars are garbage and don't work.
They try to play down the shock effect. Don't believe them. I carried one in my hand over the perimeter of my grandparent's yard and it shocked the shit out of me. (that was an "electric fence" collar, though)Last edited by Melchior; 03-13-2014, 04:55 PM."If I was racist in my opinion of QB's, I wouldn't have a dog named Donovan." - downundermike

The plot thickens. Glad I didn't write that note.
So I decided to take a case of Yuengling next door and make nice. Turns out the wife was pissed because the neighbors in the back called the cops on THEM because they thought it was their dogs.
I think I'm going to go grab a bark collar for the mutt, and the neighbors have agreed to stick them in the garage if they get too loud.
Fucking old people and their phones.-Slizz of Wangnutz

In modern times, many places and people consider leaving dogs outside alone to be cruel. Of course they'll bark in those conditions. You can't even rescue a dog in LA if you plan on leaving them outside. Considered animal cruelty.
That's what folks do in rural areas but not cities or suburbs. If one trains their dogs to live in the house they really like it. They feel secure and mostly sleep. Outside they become anxious and territorial with no human presence.

There's absolutely nothing cruel about what I'm doing. They have people door, not dog door, access to my garage which has plenty of water, beds for both of them, and tons of toys, not to mention all the indoor space to move around in that they could want. It's pretty much the same setup they have at the daycare.-Slizz of Wangnutz
