I bet Denver will pick him up. I heard on Sirius that he's visiting the Ravens, too.

Any team should consider any trade offer

See Herschel Walker. But at the end of the day I suspect DJax stays right here. Plenty of players these days are prima donna's, if not out right pains in the ass, but that is the nature of this league. I don't see the departure of Jason Avant making this an untenable situation.

The importance of a speed demon who stretches the defense can not be overstated in Chip Kelly's offense. Jackson going deep creates gaping holes underneath for the short passing game. Jackson in motion causes defensive confusion. Jackson lined up in a strange place causes downright panic. In fact, I can't think of another player in the league who makes his offense this much better without the ball in his hands.

            I'll tell you one thing

IF trading Jackson was even being considered by this FO:

            1. it would hands down happen on draft day
            2. the trade would consist of jackson and a pick(s) or future pick, and we would be moving up significantly higher to draft an immediate replacement stud WR

well i guess i told you 2 things.

Domo's report is the only one that really gives it any credence, IMO. His was slightly less hypothetical and posited that its been discussed in some way.

Still don't see it happening until next season at the earliest. But what do I know?

                  Desean Jackson is the man

                  Well, that settles that.

Does not have the top-end speed.

DJax's pure speed is a huge contributor to McCoy and the TEs having so much room to work.

That's the same thing his combine scouting report said..."lacks elite speed"

but then he ran an official 4.33, fastest of the WRs and set the combine record in the 20- and 60- yard shuttle

Seems odd...I guess he "plays slow?" Never seen him myself.

I could see him going to the 49ers...they have many draft picks to part with and may be looking for an established WR rather than a rookie.

And I don't think there was one djax type burn-the-db-by-5-yds play in the 6 minutes or so

He can definitely play. Watched a few of their games this year. He either seemed to always be open or making a tough catch.

                              What about this

Maybe the thinking is trade DJax and draft DeAndre Thomas to become that "down the field, stretch the defense" player. He had a pretty impressive time in the 40 at the Oregon Pro Day. I am wondering who the Pats, 9ers, and Ravens have that are "down the field, stretch the defense" threats. They seem pretty successful with good route runners/good hands/catch in traffic types to me. I could be mistaken, but I don't think Boldin is a burner, nor do I think what's his name in Baltimore (sarcasm) is either. Also if you look at it with total honesty, Jackson really showed how selfish he is when he waited all of 2 days to start bitching about being underpaid. At least wait for the sting of that loss to go away. I love what he can do when he has his head on straight, but I really think he will be a hold out again. This team doesn't need that crap from him again.

I bet if they could replace djax with De'anthony thomas as well, he's pretty fast too.
