I thought the eagles haven't said anything? Not being a jackass either....I thought the gang stuff was more just people trying to put the dots together.

Good read IE. Everything he said was a 100% true.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

I think you are correct in that the Eagles have really had no official comment.

But I also think that by saying nothing, they are saying a lot, especially given that Nj.com article. It will be interesting to see what happens after Jackson has a new job.

The "gang" problem is media fetched. The Eagles have said nothing. It's the media making something up. Once again everything becomes racial. It's so annoying!! The Eagles released an unbelievable talent you know why ?? WE DONT KNOW!! They haven't said anything about it.

                Ultimately, I think it's just a smokescreen...

Djax wanted more money and Chip didn't like him. They tried to move him and maybe got a limited return or truly nothing. When the NJ.com story appeared, they pulled the "now or never" trigger and decided to move on in the hopes the fanbase was satiated on the gang story to not notice the releasing of a star player.

I'm not sure what's worse, cutting Djax or not just giving the fans the "screw this guy" move and suckering us with a gangland story.

I have no doubts Djax was a prick, but he was our prick.

Everything irv said is dead nuts on the money. I just don't think Jackson was released for what gotti's article is about. I think desean became expendable in the eagles eyes especially at his $alary (<--see what I did?) and the Eagles needed to justify it to the fan base, easiest route, let the media put bs out there and don't say anything.

Frank Sinatra got no more of a pass than Snoop Dog and 50 Cent get now.

And, if anyone should be telling Jackson to get as far away as he can from the knuckleheads in his life, it should be a guy who spent three years fighting a charge (even if false) that could have sent him to prison because he did business deals with his knuckleheads.

That's my advice to my kids when they have friends who impress me as knuckleheads.

I agree. By letting the nj.com article define the narrative and not exercising their power to redefine the narrative, they are letting DJax's reputation get publicly trampled. Whatever your reasons for cutting him, it's not a classy move.

They could simply release a statement saying he wasn't focused on football enough for Kelly's liking. Considering he owns a record label, this would not really be a shock, and it would be less damaging than letting this gang story become the unofficial story.

                            Interesting read.
