I fully expected Cooper to be cut last year, and wouldn't have been mad had they done it. Now that he's had a year to interact with the rest of the players and they don't have a problem with it...what's there to still be talking about?

For me it's easy, I have always wanted a big, strong, rugged, physical rec. I don't care if he white, black, or purple with pink spots, I am sick to death of watching other teams have these guys control the game.

Now, does coop have Megatron type talent? Of course not, but he is a close as it gets on this rooster, and even the most racist on this board have to admit that he made SEVERAL catches last year for a score or at least to continue a drive that NO OTHER rec. on this team would/could have made.

I'll go one further, I am more pissed about coop dropping that wide open pass in the PO game than about anything else last year. The premise of this thread is serious

and I stand by it. Was I stirring the pot? absolutely.

But here is what I am saying: from white kids in my day liking Rick Barry, Pete Maravich and Billy Cunningham because they were great white players competing well against the black majority, to white guys cheering for Gerry Cooney when realistically he had no chance against tyson, to some white guys here, conciously or unconsciously supporting Cooper because he is Caucasian...it happens.

is that from the board, the gayte, facenutz, and the couple of phone conversations we've had, he comes across as nothing but a stand up guy. We can all be pricks at one point or another. Ironically, my best friend whom I've known since the eight grade is White. He's an auto mechanic, and during a conversation with me and a few of our other friends, he said that he had to "nigger rig" something on a car he was working on. Obviously, I was pretty pissed, but I explained to him why, he apologized, and we kept it moving. No biggie at all.
