  • Sixers officially lock up 2nd worst record

With Orlando winning and the Sixers losing tonight, they can do no better than second worst. Thus, we should have at least the 2nd pick in the draft (or if the basketball gods are looking down upon us, the first pick :D ).

2nd worst record guarantees they can pick no lower than 5th.

There's a ton of mathematical reasoning behind it, but the easiest way to explain it is...it's just the way the lottery works. Worst record guarantees no lower than 4th.

          Wow. I didn't know that.

...Embiid, Randle, Parker, Exum, Wiggins (in no particular order)

I'd be okay with any of them. I've read a lot about Exum and you just never know...

Regardless, from my eyes it's the best news I've read about anything concerning relevant philly sports. When's the draft?

June 26th. What's going to be interesting is where New Orleans picks...we'll find that out May 20th.

It's really too bad if Parker goes back to college. We could be in another Evan Turner pick situation. We may have the second pick that is a dramatic drop off from the first pick.

Marcus smart has taught this generation to go pro. You'd be stupid not to.

I disagree that there is a "dramatic" drop-off, anyhow. You never know who the studs are gonna be. The best player in the draft could be the 7th player picked...complete crapshoot...

Yeah, but a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, y'know. Smart was a top 3 pick (or so) last year. He lost cash by returning. They get fawned over, but it's bad business for them.

I thought that only the first three are the only actual lottery picks and after that they're seeded based on record of the remaining teams. Or is there more to it than that?

Every team that doesn't make the playoffs has a shot. Some, more than others.

Not really. Wiggins, Embiid, Randle and Smart are all better prospects than Evan Turner.

Do you still think Stauskas is a 2nd rounder?
