Not to be confrontational, but if there is a receiver who is rated the best player they've rated ... ahead of any other defensive player ... why would you leave him there?
I'm not a draft geek, so tell me of these players on defense are who so great that you let go of a receiver who's ready to start in Jackson's role?Obscenity is the last refuge of an inarticulate motherfucker.

They will need to select a WR at some point probably fairly early, because if Maclin goes down again or if Cooper goes down things could get ugly.--------

I think it comes down to a ton of depth at WR vs what's there on DB's, LB's, DL.
can easily get a WR in second or third round closer to first round talent than any other position in this year's draft. Robinson from penn st, jordan Mathews, Bryant from Clemson And Latimer from Indiana off top of my head could be there in 2nd and just as good as the WR's not named Watkins and Evans when all is said and done.
Marquis lee and cook at 22nd would be insane IMO.

There's a drop off after Watkins and Evans. After those two, the rest could go in any order, I expect WRs to drop down the board which is why the second round makes the most sense. Kiper inflates the values of offensive players...which is why he's typically wrong.
If Kelly has that much faith in cutting DJax for nothing because he believes in his system, he shouldn't have an issue finding a fit in the second round. It's not like Kelly hasn't raised the stock of the offensive players on this team already.
The two safeties most likely will gone. Outside of a surprise, quality defensive player dropping in another position, I think they will go with the best CB on the board. Regardless, it has to be defense in every round but one.

I know you were not trying to be. There is just so much offensive talent that you "could" drop back and get more picks if they wanted to. If they like one of the wr's that much I do not have a problem with taking him, I just like the quanity and you might get a couple of steals. On Trumps handicap

A quality guard would be useful, and a guy they visualize as a future left tackle could play inside a couple years. A big nose tackle or 3-4 DE could contribute right away, along with pretty much any LB or DB.

After pryor and dix the rest of the safeties are just guys. After barr and mack no point reaching for a guy at 22. Probably best to go corner even though that guy may be just a fourth guy. Also...wideout from ole miss...moncrief...big..can jump...fast and will block. I wouldnt be opposed top him in the second round either.“I am going to literally sodomize you on the field of battle. After Moncrief ran a 4.34 at the Ole Miss pro day, it doesn't sound like he'll be around by their 2nd round pick.
If Chip really does like "big guys" I don't think they'll go WR in the first. The guys being talked about in the 20s (Cooks, Lee, Beckham Jr.) are all under 6'. Howie was also saying something a few days ago about how it wouldn't be a shock to see them come out of the draft with two WRs and that they draft guys for "who they'll be 3-4 years from now" and that he thinks there could be a dozen WRs picked in the first two rounds.
That leads me to think that they'll opt for one of the bigger, "unfinished" guys that are pontificated to be going in the second...Matthews (6'3" 210 4.44), Latimer (6'3" 215 4.45) or Bryant (6'4" 210 4.41) and then maybe consider another project on the last day Janis (6'3" 220 4.37) or Washington (6'4" 195 4.38).
But who the hell knows? They need to get this draft behind them so we can get back to bitching about the guys who are on the roster instead of pretending anyone has any idea what is going to happen.
