Not that much bigger either. Ellington is more muscular and athletic. He was the starting point guard on the basketball team for two years.

        It was a sentimental pick.
I think a lot of it has to do with blocking ability and willingness to block. That's a major attribute Chip looks for in a WR. Huff might be the best blocking WR in the draft. I won't begin to speculate on Ellington's blocking abilities but I would have to imagine, that's one major factor in the Eagles' decision.

They could say that if they wanted to.

          He is bigger, right?

Actually they very well may have ... he weighs 200 plus.

He's a converted running back and runs like one after he catches the ball.

5'11 and 205 (Huff) and familiar with the offensive principles; 5'8 and 175 (Ellington).

Are still not on board with tha Chipper's offensive philosophy...or they are just refusing to understand why. Um, because it works...that's all that should matter. Speedy runt receivers get caught up in press coverage when teams focus on them.

Thats interesting since Ellington was 5-9 197 at the combine but I guess as a front office shill you can make up whatever you want.

I didn't really care for the Huff pick either. Seemed like Donte Moncrief was a better choice.

                      Huff knows the system

Moncrief would have taken a year to get up to speed.

Knowing the system doesn't cut it if you don't have NFL talent. Jeff Maehl knows the system.

The draft didn't impress me. Smith and Huff were both reaches. The Vandy kid seems to have the most potential but why were ten receivers taken before him.

This season we'll see how lucky Kelly got last year and how well he can coach. Shanahan was on a death march and who the hell can tell about the Vagiants from season to season.

Ellington was ranked 13th WR by whom? Obviously not by Chip.

Huff could end up being a good player. Don't have a problem with him being drafted as opposed to any other receiver that was in the draft at that point. I just don't think we should have picked a receiver to come in and be your 4th or 5th guy when you have so many holes on defense. There were guys on the board that would have come in and contributed from day 1 on defense, and we grabbed a 4th receiver who may or may not ever work his way up the depth chart.
