They have no self-interest in improving things. In fact, typically they have a self-interest in maintaining the status quo because they are benefiting and profiting from it, even if there are ways things could be better.

Are you one of those people?
The difference between current China and the US is that China is aware that they have a problem and are aggressively pursuing green energy options as official policy. In fact, advancing green energy technology is boosting their economy. They're 2nd in the world, behind Germany, in producing photovoltaics.

In the US, we're still fighting off the deniers, like Riccardo.

If you actually doubted that man impacts the climate, it wouldn't matter how much the gorilla weighed, now would it ?

OR how many coal plants China fires up ?

Good lord do you get all your "knowledge" from comic books?

US carbon dioxide emissions are decreasing, China is the worst polluter in the world and their emissions of CO2 are growing almost double digits annually. Yes they make a lot of solar panels and sell them to us. What a dope.

So, another jackass that thinks he knows me, lol If I didn't care about any of it then tell me why I have invested well over a million dollars in a whole fleet of clean burn diesel trucks?

Why did I add another 100,000 dollars in electric APU's so that my drivers would not idle the trucks for heat of A/C?

Why have we equipped my shop with a waste oil burning furnace with particulate filters, so that we not only have to dispose of waste oil but we also don't have to use any other form of energy to heat the building?

Why do I walk rather than drive to and from work most days?

Now who is full of shit?, go crawl back under your rock.

Yeah you're right, Al Gore's predictions were money

I've stated many times on this board that there is a global warming trend

yep there are plenty of options

And fortunately more use of natural gas instead of coal is holding us over (and lowering co2 emissions) until these new technologies mature

BTW, can you still see much of the concrete ship off Cape May, or is it all gone It's been twenty some years since I have been there.
Our family went to Cape May Point on Mother's Day and the concrete ship is still very much there. The concrete war bunker near the state park is firmly on the beach as well. Cape May Point is a gem.

I guess his figures forgot to include the one a month coal fired power generating plants coming online.

Thanks for that HK, glad someone hear actually reads and answers an honest question.

Yeah, it's a great area, spent many a weekend down there in my youth, IF I remember right weren't there some rotating gun turrets that were out in the water in front of that bunker, or am I thinking of someplace else? Sandy Hook maybe?

Cornell is a great school. I knew there was a reason I liked you. Just be careful. You're making too much sense for this board.

So what are you saying? Its confusing?

Are trying to make a difference in your own little way, or is your investment influenced by the EPA, a department that you seem to detest and/or at odds with in the past.

Sorry, I can't help you with that answer. We had been to the town of Cape May a ton of times over the years but we had never gone down to the Point until last summer so last Sunday was just our third time being there.

The Point beach near the state park is a hidden gem....pristine, quiet, no lifeguards, and free. I think we're gonna get there early one morning this summer and just relax for the day to enjoy that awesome view of the ocean...it's just different down there.

We really need a workable fusion reactor design, IMO.
..a bigger problem underlying all of this besides those resisting the facts is population growth.

We are repeating a pattern of grow and crash, the archeological records have plenty of evidence.
