They ducked the issue on a technicality before.

I imagine Doogie Sterling will appeal.

This exact ruling has been made before and overturned.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

              ... on a technicality.

The real issue now is if there will be enough economic consequence to Snyder and the NFL to motivate them to actually change the name. I do not think they will win any appeals that they will surely file.

There might not be enough damages to their sales figures. But it is a beginning. That's what matters here.

20% of individuals polled find "twit" to be disparaging.

                    Ok....twat.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

The government had to force them to integrate in the 60's. Now the government has to pressure them to get rid of their racist name.

Although from a business standpoint I can see that the name/trademark had a value. But from Danny's standpoint I could think he would welcome this strictly from a money standpoint.

Think of how many things that emblem/name is on, he could sell another bizzillon football shirts alone, not to mention banners, coffee cups, jackets, hats, etc.

Can't believe the littlest telemarketer hasn't picked up on this?

I don't follow. Because the mark is disparaging, he cannot maintain it's registration so anyone can use it without paying for it.

That's why I said, the old name HAD a value.

What I am saying is that inevitably the team will be named something else, ( Washington Warriors) for example.

The team would trademark the new name which people/companies would have to pay (again) to Danny the rights to use the new name.

This would go for any merchandise, clothing, apparel, swag, whatever, I could see fans buying the new named shit by the truckloads so as to NOT appear racist.

Probably can brand all of your remaining old merchandise as "vintage" and sell it that way.
