The Knicks have reportedly spoken to the Sixers about a trade for Amare Stoudemire.
Knicks president Phil Jackson is trying to shed salary and trading Stoudemire would go a long way towards accomplishing that goal. The Sixers have about $30 million in cap space and have told teams that they'd be willing to accept a bad contract (like Stoudemire's) if they can get extra assets in return. The extra asset from the Knicks would presumably be Iman Shumpert of Tim Hardaway Jr., so we'll have to wait and if the Knicks are willing to part with either of their most desirable young players.
What would the Sixers have to give up?
