  • Hey guys bobbyuk here

I've been lurking on the page quite a bit, really not posting anything. The Philly sports scene since January has been pretty dire and that's why I haven't posted anything.

However, I do have some news to share with you guys. For those that have met me at the 2 tailgates I attended (gee, was it 6 years ago already the last one I attended?), anyway, you know that I was a pretty hefty guy for being only 5'10". The operative word WAS.

Back on the 20th of April, I started an exercise program here at work running the stairs when I could and then on the 30th, I joined the gym next door. I also followed my wife's lead and went vegan. I've been going to the gym 7 days a week when I can and have cut out all the shit I was eating before.

I have lost 39lbs since April 20 and feel so much better for it. Yeah, I miss the butter, the bread, the croissants, the pancakes, the cakes, the donuts, the sugar in my cereal and hot tea, but as I said, I feel so much better for it. When I figure out how to post photos on here, I will post a then and now photo.

Anyway, the Birds start camp on Friday and I cannot wait and hope that they lift the fog of what has been 7 months of forgettable Philly pro sports.

You had me rooting for you until you said you gave up butter? WTF? Butter rules.

But damn, 40 pounds. Great job.

I went vegan about 9 months ago. Butter was tough for me till I found coconut oil. I would highly recommend trying it.

I use Earth Balance spread or just olive oil, seems to get the job done. More non-meat eaters around here than I would have expected.

I used a lot of Olive oil until I found Coconut oil. I have barely touched olive oil since. They say Coconut oil is healthier then olive oil as well.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. My wife buys Pure--it's a soya butter--but before I went on this diet/exercise plan, toast was my life. I cannot tell you when the last time I had toast with butter or this Pure, which was pretty good the last time I ate it. She has also bought coconut oil, which is good. The person I feel sorry for is our 22 year old daughter. She's in good physical shape, but, she hates the healthy eating.
