  • iPhone 6 plus review

Got the phone Friday night and didn't start using it until Saturday.

But it's been through a couple days of use, a gayte and a game so I think I can post an informed review. Not going to compare to Android as my references is my GF who a sh*tty Android phone which has problems so it would be unfair. This is only for people who have iPhones and who are considering upgrading, not people who are considering platforms.

First point: this device is huge. If you have a job where you have to move around a lot and you want to keep your phone in your pocket... go for the iPhone 6, not the plus. For me, I will take the phone out of my pocket and put it down in my office. Having said that, for one gayte and a game it was good. I didn't feel like it was in danger while in my pocket

I think it really comes down to whether you want a 2 hand vs 1 hand device. It is possible but a little difficult to operate the 6 plus with one hand. For me it feels like you could easily drop it... especially in an environment where you are with a lot of people like a football game.

The claim about the bending problem is bogus, IMO. The thing fits fine in my front pocket, which is where I always have kept my phone.

The camera is f*cking excellent. It is more than a leap beyond what I had in my iPhone 5.

I'm a little disappointed with the battery life but that is the constant complaint with iPhones. I tend to carry an external charge battery when I am going on trips or all day gaytes like yesterday.

I went with the 6. I felt like I might as well be trying to shove an iPad Mini in my pocket with the 6 plus. Didn't like the feel of it.

I have noticed that my 6 is freezing up occasionally or the links aren't showing up as live, causing me to close and reboot Safari. Kind of a pain in the ass. I haven't updated to the 8.0.2 software so maybe that will fix it.

Best part for me is the slender design - I went from an iPhone 4 plus to this, so huge difference.

I'm having some of that with my 5, so I'd have to think that it's mostly an iOS issue.

I agree the form factor is better with the 6 for many people. Originally I went for that, but then changed my order.

I'm kind of a specs geek so some of the (minor) differences like the pixels per inch and resolution on the display and the optical image stabilization on the plus pushed me toward it. If you are an iPhone user I don't think you could go wrong with either one... it's more a matter of which form factor you prefer.

I have taken so many blurry photos with my old iPhone 5 that it made me want to get the best camera possible with my new phone.

I haven't had any software glitches yet but I did upgrade to the latest iOS immediately.

I have the 6 Plus. Got it the day it came out through the mail. No complaints so far.

TURN OFF BACKGROUND REFRESH. Makes a huge difference.
