I disagree. There's no place for nepotism when you're coaching a National team. Chalmers won championships in College and the NBA, so I'll take his word for it.

Every coach would do the same thing. Come on. All things being relatively equal, a coach takes his guy. Chalmers hadn't won anything at that point, had he?

Edit- Don't get me wrong, it's a great story and I would feel the same way. Wright sucks.

As much as I hate Coach K, he didn't take any Dookies on the 2012 Olympic team. And Chalmers might not have won anything at that point, but considering what he's done since then makes Wright look clueless.

Anyway, I'm surprised I haven't heard this story before. You don't see too many former college stars call out "elite" college coaches years later.

Out of curiosity, I looked up their stats. Reynolds more ppg, Chalmers slightly more apg and spg and better shooting %. At the time I don't think Chalmers was considered a significantly better player. He obviously turned out to be one.
