At least they shouldn't. I'm going the other way with FSU. I think it's impressive that they keep finding ways to win, even when they're down by double digits. As far as TCU/Baylor, the fact that they're co-champions should count for something. If anything, Baylor should leapfrog TCU sine they won head to head.

I'll give you taht the Big 10 got a lot better.............

when Maryland joined in, but let's face it, it's still a shit conference and OSU is far away the biggest piece of shit going.

From the school that practically invented cheating at the college level to that prick Urban Meyer. Ohio State is grade A-1 garbage.

On a somewhat releated note, kudos to the Big 10 basketball program yesterday.

      NJIT????? bwahahahahahahaha!

Maybe getting left out of the playoffs will encourage the program to schedule some top ranked teams from great conferences next year.

Otherwise, there's no reason for the Buckeyes to bitch.

That's how I feel as well but I also understand that they at least deserve to defend the title since they're undefeated. That being said, no way in hell would they still be undefeated if they were in the SEC,Big 12, or PAC. I know from experience that you're pretty much screwed if you fall that far behind on a regular basis in the Big 12. FSU's D would get shredded in the Big 12 and the top teams in the conference can score like nobody's business.

The a-hole powers-that-be move at a glacier pace when it comes to making smart decisions. Make it eight teams and you pretty much eliminate this stupid drama. Every other level of college football has a true playoff field but not the one which brings in the most money....and MONEY(bowl money) is what drives this thing.

Bottom line: OSU, TCU and Baylor(which I personally can't stand) deserve to be in the field. The TCU-Baylor game was a game for the ages so for one of them(or both) to be left out would be a damn shame...an injustice.

OSU is the only program in the Big 10 that has a legit shot at hanging with the top teams in the country. Mich St last year was good, but they're not consistently that level.

My top 4, purely based on what I think would be the most entertaining games, would be Bama, Oregon, Baylor/TCU and FSU. I wanna see Bama trounce Winston and I wanna see the Ducks and the Big 12 school score a combined 150.

I think the committee will go with Bama, Oregon, FSU and OSU in that order.
The only conference Ohio State has a losing winning percentage against is the SEC. My top 4 would be Bama,Oregon, FSU, OSU.

That was kind of my point, OSU is the only Big Ten team I'd take against the other conferences, however, that link you posted is deceiving.

Look at their results against the Big 12. They haven't played a Big 12 team since 2009. Since then, the Big 12 has gotten a lot better.

Same thing for the PAC 12. They beat Oregon in 2010, lost to USC in 09 and have only played shitty Cal and Colorado teams since then.

Historically, yes, OSU is great against the other conferences, except the SEC, but they haven't really been tested against the other conferences in about 5 years.

Up until yesterday I didn't even think OSU should've been in the field with this stupid four team format. Almost lost to PSU and had trouble with other teams in the sub-par Big 10...lost to a bad VT squad AT HOME. How does TCU drop out after yesterday's performance and their full resume'? This thing is too subjective.

I agree the BIG 10 isn't as strong as it has been in the past. I think OSU is elite but if i had $1000 to lay down at a sports book. I wouldn't be taking OSU over Bama, Oregon or FSU.

OSU dropped 60 on Wisconsin on a neutral field, and Wisconsin. Was favored to win.

Barry Alvarez screwed TCU and Baylor

Not that OSU wasn't equal to those two, but with Alvarez leading the committee by its nose, that's how OSU got in.

Politics still come into play. Bowls want teams like OSU who's fans travel well $$$$. This article tries to make a case for OSU jumping up to #4.

"But I think it's the Buckeyes. Ohio State will have beaten as many ranked teams as Baylor did and one more than TCU did, and OSU's were away from home by multiple scores. OSU played 10 bowl teams in 13 games, compared to TCU's seven in 12 and Baylor's six in 12. And Saturday, Ohio State beat former No. 13 Wisconsin, 59-0".

The committee got it right, IMO. They got the 4 best teams in and the 2 best possible semi final matchups. They need to do away with the weekly rankings, though.

The Big 12 needs a championship game. I think that is what really hurt them.

But I think we're at 8 teams in another few years. Conference champs from ACC, B1G, Big 12, PAC 12 and SEC plus 3 at-large.

They got the 4 best but something is wrong if you knock #3 (not even #4) out all together after they win by 50. Something somewhere didn't work. Need more teams maybe.
