I agree, as long as someone lights a fire under Cooper and the rookies continue to develop. I'd like a better #2 WR but don't expect it to happen.

I agree re Maclin. I like the chances that he comes back. He seems happy here and the fans like him. He knows he'll flourish in Chip's system. However, does Chip have his eye on someone else, such as 49r's M. Crabtree? One commentator speculated that new 49rs regime might not want to rebuild with him.

I'm okay with Sanchez @ #2 but Jake Locker might be an interesting project.

I'm okay with a Thornton extension, but that is an area where they could possibly upgrade. He is restricted.

DE is a position that might get addressed fairly high in the draft.

    SS upgrade Allen
I don't expect it to happen. Allen knows the system, does not make a large number of bone-head plays any longer, has improved his tackling and occasionally makes a big play. I don't see him as a big reason for their problems on D. They did not get enough rush against good teams and left their below average corners on an island in a system that really exposes at least one of them.

Quote by Chip seems to make it certain that Ryans is coming back. The question is who is the backup and successor in development. Remember they lost two LBs early in the season. I would not be surprised to see them draft Ryans' replacement unless they really like one of the injured LBs.

[QUOTE=iowaigglefan;1794604]OSLB to replace Cole if he wont restructure or Graham if we cant resign him

Getting DE/OLB solidified makes me really nervous, even more so than Maclin at WR, especially with the weak secondary. Cole is just a role player now and at 10mil a very overpaid one.
    Available FA OLBs (not exciting):

I expect Cary Williams to be back. I fear that they will use a high draft pick on one and rely on existing CBs minus Fletcher.

I don't expect to see them go in this direction unless they get a mid-late round "value pick".

I expect them to draft someone for OL depth, possibly a project that could be a future starter.

They need to hold back some serious money to repup some players next season
Before the release of DJax and the injury to Foles they were supposedly expected to run into cap problems. I suppose they expected Foles to be extended for 5+mil. Also Kendricks and Cox are eligible for extensions.

How much salary will they be able to dump? These veterans who might not make the team have significant price tags:
    Celek, Herremans, James Casey

2nd round is where Jerry Rice and Joe Montana types will be. Might need to trade back.

How does insurance legislation relate to horrible draft threads?

You could do a lot of things ... and I don't give a rat's ass about any of them.

Was your intention to state "well no one likes you anyway?"

Or was it simply to indicate that his opinions have limited support from posters well-known for a particular slant?

My intention was to point out that this was a shitty thread. No shit they need a QB and secondary players.

Iowa posts in every draft thread and SE is a troll.
