Instead of erasing Joe Paterno's wins, they erased the scandal.

Exactly what purpose does the NCAA serve?

        He can have his wins

Doesn't erase the issue that he knew about it and did nothing.

He reported it to his bosses. Which btw is now the mandated NCAA protocol for reporting sexual misconduct. Should he have done more? Sure. But to say he did nothing is a lie.

The Original Decision Didn't Only Hurt Paterno's Reputation

The decision to strip the university of the wins damaged every single player who made them possible. All their work was essentially for nothing.

Paterno died under fire -- this won't change that, but it will vindicate the players who actually won and lost the games.

I've interviewed enough coaches over the decades and each of them said, "I can't play the games for them." The NCAA made the right move.

He was Joe Paterno. The most powerful man in State College. One call to the police would have launched an inqury at the least, and an investigation at the most.

What a load of crap! Big fucking deal!

What an empty gesture. Are they trying to polish his heavily tarnished image?

When all the dust settled, it was proved Paterno was just another big time college coach scumbag. Winning football games was even more important to him that having his main lieutenant exposed as the serial child molester he was.

Fuck Joe Paterno. Let him enjoy getting his wins back in hell.

He told the guy who is in charge of the campus police, which has full police authority on campus.

I'm far from a Penn State fan, but taking away scholarships and wins because of the scandal seemed ludicrous to me from the start.

Jerry Sandusky's transgressions in no way benefitted Penn State in recruiting or game day play.

Punish the school, specifically those in charge who aided in the coverup, but don't punish the football program, specifically those who had no clue what happened.

Great. Obviously you went to Penn State to major in minors.

Say what you want about Riccardo, but he always drives slowly through a school zone.
