  • Do we have to tank again next year?

    This is too confusing

Really. Is the strategy to tank and tank again over and over again? The Lakers last won a championship in 2010.

    Something is fishy here.

Maybe the NBA is just an overblown or more refined version of Globetrotter vs, General basketball.

I really think they need to start getting their chemistry together with Noel,
Embiid and whomever they take next month.

Don't we wait for them to show some progress then trade them for more picks?

This is stupid,.. Can't we just go back to choking the chicken?

We couldn't tank if we wanted to. We're going to be too talented next season. Take whoever of towns-Okafor-Russell who gets to 3. It's not complicated.

They could end up with enough draft picks to fill out an entire roster over the next 2 drafts alone. They should not acquire any good players through free agency or trade this year, which I guess could be considered "tanking," but after next year they could be primed to start winning a lot of ball games for years to come.

Russell reminds me of Evan Turner...just a little bit.

I know. They are both guards who went to Ohio State. Russell can shoot. Turner could not.

Their young players will get minutes so they can grow and gain experience.

They will avoid talented FAs; although I expect to see one or two aging veterans for leadership.

This will ensure that they don't make the playoffs and have a chance for another high pick.

Even without lottery luck they should be able to get a solid SF or SG like Winslow or Hezonja.

Two years from now the team will really take shape. They'll likely add three or four 1st rounders plus Saric who is improving his game in Europe. They'll have the best of the many 2nd rounders for depth.

It should be a good team in a few years. Until then it will still be painful to watch the scoreboard.

Nah, I don't think so. He's more of a pure scorer than Turner was. Turner benefited from being in a bad draft class.

...what was perceived to be a bad class...

Who else came out of that class - Cousins. I don't remember.

Wall, Cousins, PG13, Eric Bledsoe, Lance Stephenson. At the time though, Turner was the consensus #2 pick because of character concerns with Boogie.
