Did you see Reed's 6-7 foot putt on the 4th hole? It was a testimony to the clown like greens! The putt was perfect until about 4 inches... the ball curves right, rolls around the hole, and then actually came back. It ended up completely resting on the other side of the whole for a tap in.

It's like all of the holes have a nasty break six inches before going in.

Fuck these whiney pros. They need perfect conditions week in, week out so that they don't look like the rest of us. You're pros, deal with the conditions and adapt. I love the look of this course!

A pro tournament cannot be played on those greens.

I don't have a problem with jacking up US Open venues to make the pros truly pay if they miss the fairway, and making the greens lighting fast.

But the greens cannot be bumpy ... that's ridiculous.

It's simply wrong that when a player makes a good shot, he has to then putt on that dogshit.

And, aside from the pros, Player has a point about it being a public course that could easily go broke because people won't pay to be tortured.

Every player has the same conditions to play on. If the course goes broke then that is the burden of the person who paid to have a course like this built. Stop making drivers and balls that go 350+ yards and then maybe some of the older well designed shorter courses can be used again.

PS - regarding the courses, I don't completely disagree with the distance issue.

Gary Player agrees also but focused on the golf ball ... which is seen as the main reason for increased distance more than the clubs.

He suggested having a different ball for pro tournaments and leaving the balls the way they are for the public.

Luck rarely comes into play in a 4 round tournament. If the guys who has been leading or within a few shots the entire tournament gets a break, thats different then some plug getting a lucky bounce in a skins match.

Ken's right. The players (at heart) are just a bunch of pissy little girls.

They always want to play on only the finest manicured courses. They can't handle any new type of challenge. If you're really the best, then you'd think you could rise to meeting the not often encountered quirks of Chambers Bay.

But nooooooooooooooo, you made the course to hard, boo hoo hoo.

I haven't seen whining like this on the golf course since they played that tourney at the place with the barrel top greens. Now then, they may have had a legit complaint; but not here.

Ps.....and when's the last time Gary Player had anything to say about anything? Fuck that loser. Go back to South Africa asshole. We'll build our courses the way we want.
