This entire line of discussion has a strong effect on me. It makes me livid to see Chip's name dragged around in the mud with no proof whatsoever that there's even a hint of racism in his mindset.

The original claims were made by ignorant ex-players with an ax to grind; and being so fucking ignorant, all the had was the race card.

You made an assertion. Who cares if it's pro or anti Chip Kelly. You made it and then said it's not based on anything concrete.

I don't think that the reason Kelly has gotten rid of certain players is based on anything as blanketed as race or even hip-hop culture (care to define that?)

It's based on usefulness to the team. The only culture aspect of that seems to be investment in the team by the players. I'd say that Boykin appeared to be a team guy so I doubt his attitude is the primary reason he was traded.

His physical tools were well know not to.mesh with what Kelly wanted and he clearly wasn't going to be an Eagle after his rookie contract expired. This is less surprising than any other trade Chip made.

Now it's also clear that Boykin didn't agree with the Eagles assessment of him and he was vocal about it so Kelly found a solution. Give Boykin a chance elsewhere and get some return. Maybe Boykin feels slighted - not surprising but evidence I see doesn't point at all to race or hip hop culture as part of this decision.

And that doesn't mean Kelly made the right decision but the basis seems strongly football based, little else.

I don't know if he's racist or not... But he seems to get rid of people that don't seem to fit his style of coaching. He hasn't liked boykin for a while though. He kept running Fletcher out there and he was trash.

So...I don't think he's racist...he just has the players he likes.

I don't know about the racism stuff, and don't want to get involved in that conversation but I have to think that until Chip wins something a lot of criticism is going to come his way due to how he deals with players. Do you think that if Bellichek hadn't won as many times as he has that the same things might be said of him with his demeanor? He isn't friends with too many of his players but they deal with his personality because he wins. If you don't fit Chips system you're gone.

I think the only player bellichek had a problem with was moss...but moss is a grade a doosh.

Basically... Chip wins a Superbowl...no one cares. He doesn't... We'll all be happy he leaves.
