Big balls, yes. Stupid, no. The call for the FG was 100% correct. Take the points and defend. Of course, that relies on your kicker being dependable.

My own view was that FG attempt was pretty pointless. Would have been a one point lead on the road in a dome against a team with 3:30, all 3 timeouts and a kicker who hasn't missed a kick against us in like 2 decades. Plus the Eagles D had just given up FGs on the previous two drives. So I think you have to go for it there. And waiting until 16 seconds on the play clock to make the decision to send the team out there was foolish too.

Hard to say. Perhaps he was hedging. Seeing the defense slipping might have caused him to want to keep that extra timeout in his pocket to possibly stop the clock.
