  • The one carryover from last year that really bothers me

Sure, this pertains to last night's game but it's actually the NFL in general.

After so many years of loving this game, last year I found myself losing some interest and emotion due to the terrible officiating that seemed to affect just about every game played. No longer was the outcome just determined by the players, but more so by the capricious calls of the officials. So many bonehead calls that had a huge difference in the final score. Whether the calls were from total incompetence or the "McMahon Factor", who knew; but they happened in practically every game.

It all came to head in the cowpies/Lions game; which I believe to this day was fixed. The final minutes of the 4th quarter of that game were way over the top in terms of belief. You just can't get that many calls wrong in that short a time with the outcome on the line. Fortunately for Goodell, he had deflategate to take away anyone's attention from trying to re-visit that debacle.

I saw 5 games this past week and can't say the situation has gotten any better. After every play you hold your breath waiting for the flag, deserved or otherwise to come flying out. Last night's Iggles game certainly was showcasing this situation.

The bottom line is that the experience of watching an NFL game is slowly sliding downhill and no one seems to care to stop this shit. I long for the old days when players went onto the field to beat the crap out of each other, and when a penalty flag was thrown you knew damn well it was deserved.

I've been hating on the refs (and la Ref, for that matter) from back when "high pointing the ball" was simply jumping.
Obscenity is the last refuge of an inarticulate motherfucker.

It really comes to a head in the holding and pass interference calls. They are trying to assert their control, and they're constantly screwing up.

It takes away from the game in a huge way, more so than anything else. They can't even be consistently bad.

I will say I had never remotely considered the games fixed until that Dallas-Detroit playoff game. There were waaay too many suspicious things going on in that game(all in the Cuntboys favor) which made me question the integrity of the game I've always loved.

And then the following week I watched Dallas awarded a first down against GB when it was clear as day he was a full yard short....with the ref standing several feet away AT THE MARKER. How do you miss that?! I was screaming like a lunatic and thankfully the Pack challenged the spot and had it overturned. Are the refs this incompetent or is something more sinister going on?

The phantom call in the endzone that basically won the game for Dallas and then the blatant helmet to helmet on Matthews last night that wasn't called both pissed me off to no end.

I truly believe that at every turn, these refs are making the wrong call. Every damn time. Then, when they get a chance to review it, they still make the wrong call about 50% of the time.
