And that's not the subject either.

    The subject is Foles.
Bradford never enjoyed the kind of running game production that Foles benefited from. Defenses were shitting their pants every time Shady touched the ball for most of 2013. It's just not really a fair comparison.

I think at the end of the day it was a wash that cost us a 2nd round pick. Which sucks.

Bradford has a better arm ... the issue is whether Foles, despite a lesser arm, has a good enough arm and is a tougher player (or "winner" if you prefer).

If he turns out to be what I just described, they could have kept him and the pick and been better off.

Look at his regular season W-L record. Compare to Bradford. Let's start with Bradford getting us to the playoffs before we start comparing w's and l's in that category.

Also, Foles stands in the pocket and takes hits. Bradford folds. Oh and Foles never infuriated me. Sure the play here or there like any qb durng the course of a game, but I liked him.

Cowboys in 2013 didn't bother you? They scored 3 points and Foles looked like he'd never seen a defense before. He got bailed out by STs/defense so hard in 2014 to help pad the wins.

How about Foles would run the read option a few times a game. Bradford won't or can't.

Really? That's pretty superficial. My point is, neither of these stiffs are the answer. The travesty is the lost 2nd rounder.

Like I wrote, he bothered me during games like any qb would. Difference is, Foles could play poorly and still keep a team in the game and possibly win it. And if games where the offense is bailed out by the defense no longer count, then this team will probably be 0-16 in Melchior Math. Neither Foles nor Bradford are Joe Montana. However, based on what I've seen so far, Foles is better. Just my opinion.

Huh? Foles was able to "keep the team in it" because the defense and STs were generating an extraordinary amount of points early last season. Bradford did exactly what you're crediting Foles with. He kept them in the game despite not playing particularly well, and the defense shit the bed. If the defense was generating points on pace with last season, Bradford would also be a "winner" today in most people's minds.

yeah, it's the terms of the trade on this one. chip kelly traded foles AND what could be a top-40 pick for a QB who did nothing in 5 years with STL. i get a swap, but did he really have to give up a 2nd for bradford, when fischer WANTED foles anyway? that to me is castilleo level WTF.

nick the dick was coming off bad performances against the steelers and skins, so i'm not going to get completely nostalgic and forget about his bad games here. but i do agree with you guys who say he usually kept the team in it. he also hung in there behind a terrible OL for a few games last season.

St Louis as a team ALWAYS gets up for Seattle and Arizona. They (and now Foles) play like world beaters against them and average to shit against the rest of the league.

That's Foles in a nutshell though. Some great, some average, some bad. That being said, as of now, that inconsistency is still better than what Bradford has brought to the team.

Maybe he does the same thing, but he's 1-3 behind the same kind of crap o line that Foles often had. Bradford has a better arm. Bradford throws a better ball. Foles wins more games. I guess you can take your pick.
