Good Question. Not sure what works better, but I hate the idea that a fumble through the sideline goes back to the offense, yet a fumble that crosses the goal line is a turnover.

i'll never forget pinkston fumbling out of the end zone against SF in 03.

PFT is always saying that this rule needs to be changed but i like it the way that it is. one argument is that it disincentivizes a fumble into the end zone to score a TD. but i just like it because the end zone is the promised land. a fumble out of the end zone needs to be different from a fumble any other spot on the field.

Agreed on this call, but the overall incompetence and shadiness in general makes it feel pointless to invest anything in this crap.

I think it was the very next commercial break when they showed that discount double-check commercial where the refs huddle up to admit they were all incompetent and coordinate their bullshit fakery.

I thought to myself, well, this is poor timing.

I'm willing to bet Roger makes a call and we never see that shit again.
