So you're traveling in Europe and you want to convert degrees C into degrees F. But you don't want to do the fractional multiplication and division or you find the official formula hard to remember.
Here's how you do it to get an easy approximation: Take the temp in C, double it. Then subtract the first digit of the doubled temp. Finally add 32 to that number.
You will end up with a very close approximation of the temp in F. Not exact, but pretty dam good over the normal range of outdoor temps!
Or, you can use your smartphone. But I like this when I'm outside and see a thermometer.
