  • I was on the Chip Ship. I'll admit it.

I'd be on the Captain Kangaroo Ship if it meant the possibility of winning a Super Bowl. Boy was I wrong about the guy. I was worried about the inexperience, but I bought into the hype.

Me too. After the first season there was reason to be optimistic. Then he gutted the team. I remained optimistic into this season, but, yeah, he stinks...

I wanted to be all in, but I was always a little reserved. I hoped he had something new and fresh, and I still think he had some good ideas. The takeaway for me is that apparently new and fresh doesn't last very long in the NFL. And Chip's head was too far up his ass to admit (and fix) his limitations. That's the shame of it for me.

I wonder if that "GM" power struggle made Chip....

....pissed off enough to fuck the team over and basically punch his ticket out of the Lurie/Roseman mess.

The NFL is the fucking NFL ... run and shoot, wildcat, west coast offense, whatever ... NFL DC's adjust to address it.

            Kelly didn't adjust in response.

            See ya.

Exactly. Success in the NFL means innovating while also adapting. Chip did some of the first (questionably) and none of the latter. He sealed his own fate.

This is exactly it. Reid's offense was novel when he first started, too. That's what I have realized as a fan of the NFL - it's not the first move that makes a good offensive coach, it's the second move once the defense has caught up to the first. Good coaches do that, bad ones don't.

The 2013 yr with Foles, Djack, Maclin, and McCoy the offense was unstoppable. I thought Chump's scheme was a perfect fit for those guys. None of those guys are still here did it for me

Yeah who wasn't, at least at some point

I've always been an optimist, no matter who they bring in. What's the point of being so negative about something you have zero influence and control over? I guess some people just like being miserable their whole lives

His first two seasons were still promising, even after last season's late fold. This year, the wheels just came totally off, and they did so quickly.
