There is a story by Shorr on NJ.com that says the same thing. It basically said that Lurie made a mistake in keeping Roseman after he stripped him of his position and that Roseman still had people working in the personnel department and together they "poisoned the well against Maynowitz".

Howie didn't make Chip GM. In fact, I'd say it's safe to say he was against that.

Half the NFL wanted Kelly including Lurie. Hiring him wasn't some crazy Howie Roseman scheme.

Chip hired Billy Davis. Chip traded McCoy for Alonso. Chip gave a bad contract to Roach Murray and then misused him. Chip threw in a second round pick for retread Bradford. Chip decided not to pay Maclin but paid Murray and Bradford. Chip let Herremans and Mathis walk without replacing them. How many offensive linemen did Chip draft this year? Chip came up with the practice schedule that the players hated and wore them down. Chip kept the vanilla playbook after every DC in the league had it figured out. In the end, Chip's handpicked culture club quit on him. And Chip refused to admit any mistakes or take responsibility for the mess.

I have no idea if the Eagles will make a good coaching hire but they'll have plenty of candidates to choose from. Nobody's mourning Chip except his good buddy Belicheat.

You could rephrase it by saying that Howie was sharp enough to realize that Chip was not that great at his job. Look like I want Roseman gone too, for sure. But Chip earned his dismissal sadly without regard to Roseman's presumed Emperor Palpatine machinations.

Chip Kelly did plenty to create his own undoing. Blaming Roseman for any of this gives Howie way too much credit.

Lastly, people act as if Lurie is uninformed, disinterested, and whose opinion can be easily swayed. Lurie has been an NFL owner now for 22 years and he takes an active role in the team. It's his job! And he likes it. Lurie is more to blame than Howie. But even Lurie is capable of learning from his mistakes. And he did find Andy Reid so that was either a blind squirrel finding a nut or maybe Jeffrey isn't the village idiot people think he is. But he is to blame for the Chip Kelly fiasco. Not Howie Roseman.

Chip didn't need any help from Howie to get fired. Chip is the one who made all these bad decisions that led to his demise. My guess is that Howie absolutely knew Chip was going to fail after working with him for 2 years and he just sat back and watched the circus Chip created.
Chip is a college coach with a college scheme. He does not belong in the Pros.

Then he got his QB.

Kelly went to the playoffs and was 10-6 twice with no control and then shit the bed his first year running the show.

Now Kelly may indeed be high school harry (or college cary) who will never change, but we'll never know while he's in Philadelphia because Howie was chirping any patience out of the owner.

Stop comparing Chip to Pete Carroll. Did you know that Pete Carroll spent 17 years in the NFL in various capacities before he became HC of Seattle? Chip is in way over his head and could not sniff Carroll's jock when it comes to coaching.
Only 2 college coaches ever came to the NFL and won a superbowl and I don't count one of them. they were Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer. The year Switzer won, that team could have had a chimp coaching and still won.

Oh and Kelly did not go to the playoffs twice. he only went once.
