  • I would be OK with Coughlin

    you could do much worse.

if nothing else he would bring consistency and discipline, things the Eagles are sorely lacking. He won everywhere he's been.

We could definitely do worse. For crying out loud, they're talking to Doug freaking Pederson. Yeah, I'm good with Coughlin if he's the choice.

It is crystal clear that they are only looking for a guy who won't be a problem for Howeenie.

And, actually, Coughlin fills that bill.

IG is right. At the very least, you know he's not going to put up with bullshit shenanigans, and players who give half ass effort.

Too Old for me. Giants have been a mess lately and he's part of the reason.

Also, how long would you really get him for before you'd need a new coach?

I want to replicate a Steeler model. Hire the right guy and let him coach for 15 years.

I beg to differ ... did you see him give Odell Beckham a lookaway for basically losing the Panther game with his selfish "shenanigans"?

EDITED TO ADD: And all of this is beside my point.

That's my issue. How much longer can he go for? And is it really about him wanting to coach the Eagles or being pissed that they Giants basically fired him? It doesn't make sense to me.

I think he just doesn't want to retire yet.

I'm not all that down on Dougie. He's not a big personality, which probably works well for Howie, but as far as working the Xs and Os, he seems pretty acceptable. As long as he never puts on a jersey again.

Can we just clone Mike Tomlin

And be done with it ?

I would not be OK with Coughlin. First of all, did you see the Giants play this year? Coughlin lost 4 games at the end with his coaching decisions. He let OBJ run wild in that game against Carolina which helped them lose the game.
Also, no coach has won a superbowl with 2 different teams in the history of the NFL.

I would take Pederson way before I take Coughlin.

As long as the clone also has the same laser like stare.

I would be ok with TC in the FO, but not as coach, honestly with all the shit this team is going to go thru, just keep Shurmur as HC, let him call the plays, and let him pick a DC.

Tag Bradford, and then figure out if these rec. not catching balls is/was a distraction issue with Chip, or some sort of Philly curse that only lasts for a year.

To be honest I DO think Matthews in the slot could pay big dividends IF/WHEN he can hang onto the damn ball.

What is Fipp's background? Any Defense in his portfolio, give him a shot at DC.

Never. I'd rather take the inexperienced coordinator than Coughlin.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

When is the last time somebody on the bored said FMB is a good coach or coached a good game?
