I agree. I just think that the "tree" is more finesse and less brawn. Harbraugh moved that needlein Baltimore. I've seen your team bullied by the big players over the past several years.

      Nope.

The biggest change was that Baltimore had to give Flacco a monster contract as befits a SB winning QB. That forced some changes to the team to absorb his money.

      Reed and Lewis retired.

Ozzie is still the GM and making the picks.

and you don't think coaching has an influence on the personality of the team?

          Nice reversal.

I would have run away from your original point as well.

Reversal? More like you wanting to split twat hairs.

Ozzie is still there. No shit. Ozzie needs to get the talent for his coach based on what a coach is looking for. That's not a unusual concept in the NFL.

              *rolls eyes*

Whatever. And Ed Reed and Lewis retiring had nothing to do with anything. They're frigging reloading.

I think you bring up valid points about Flacco's contract, Reed and Lewis retiring, etc. and so maybe I'm being a little unfair. I'll wait to see if they reload into a brawling team again. A couple of Raven fans I know think the coaching style on defense is more passive than in years past. Just sayin'.

I thought your point was that they were coaches who couldn't beat good teams. I guess I'd argue that the fact they won Super Bowls, alone, contradicts that. Coaches who aren't also GM's coach the hands they are dealt and both Harbaugh and McCarthy did that to the highest possible level of achievement. So by definition they have proven they can beat the best teams.
