      Welcome to the Howeagles

Mel fucking Kiper's wet dream is coming true and somehow Jeffrey fell into it.

I hope it works out, but I feel more like it is going to be a damn train wreck.

No shit - this entire season and now postseason has been underwhelming. But who would you prefer that was a reasonable possibility?

I would have preferred they did it the correct way.

Hire a REAL GM first and then have that GM hire a coach that would reflect his philosophy and build something.

As of this moment, we don't know what the hell is going on and Howie and Dougy are hiring the friggin dregs of the league.

I hope it turns out well. But that's probably what the Donner party thought when it started to snow.

Haha yeah me too but that's the problem: Howie is essentially the GM. His philosophy is "I know football! You better respect me or else!". And so here we are.

Howie swallowed his pride, Kelly self-immolated and Howie got his shot. Maybe he's the next Theo Epstein.
                Maybe not.

I'm just glad Mr. Smoothie is gone.

Howie had a shot before Chip was hired and didn't do a very good job.

                    You Howie fluffing?
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

Howie and a real coach don't mix like two dicks and no bitch,
                      Find yourself in serious shit.

its funny how the narrative on this guy has changed. the last time Jim Schwartz was in Philly the papers were running articles about how Washburn had found new life running the wide nine with Ndamakung Suh. wash was the d line coach and schwartz was the head coach. their detroit lions team was characterized, at the time, as exclusively running the wide nine scheme. in fact, schwartz was making wild claims that all defenses were versions of the wide nine.

that was the week that preceded an epic outburst of production from shady who dropped 217 yards on 7.5 ypc and 2 tds on detroit.

he might PLAN on running something other than the wide nine in Philly but that was his primary defense during his time in Detroit.

I saw the quote, he said it when he got to Buffalo. He said all teams line up in a Wide 9 formation, not that all defenses were Wide 9. Whether he said something different in Detroit, I don't know.

He also said when he got to Buffalo that the formation wouldn't define his defense there. I'm just going by what he said at his most recent gig.

Not at all. But I don't think he's ever had control of a draft like he will now.

Danny Watkins was obviously a Reid pick. And no way Howie would have brought in all those chump Ducks.

He's totally accountable for this off-season. I don't see Pedey dabbling with personnel.
