Last time I checked this was called playing not to lose and its the best way to insure that your team never, ever wins a Super Bowl. This is the guy that Jeffrey Lurie says was the best coach available and he was so scared of Tom Brady on Saturday that he reduced his teams chances at victory to a pittance just so Tom Brady wouldnt beat on the Chiefs any more.

This strikes me as a pointless debate. God only knows what happens on Reids sideline. He has a long history of bad clock management. I think having him out of the play calling loop will be an instant improvement. Ill wait till Dougie fkkks up in Philly to go after him.

In any case, the next drive would have been the one to run the clock so this explanation doesn't make a lot of sense. I don't think it was a plan. I think Pedey wasn't going to throw Reid under the bus explaining it. Good for him.

The drive may have been slow but the Chiefs scored with all their time outs left. That lucky deflection to Edelman could have easily been incomplete or a pick 6. If incomplete Pats are third and long with a minute left and Chiefs with two time outs.

Will we ever hear: "We burned the time because we didn't want to give the ball back to Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez"? Doubtful but You never know with Andy.

Yeah but all this forced drama is weird. We're dissecting a KC two-minute drill?

And extrapolating it to divine the success or failure of a coach who hasn't even started his job.

It's not just here. Look at the site linked in the original post. The lengths people are going to just to attack the guy, before he's done a damn thing, is bizarre. Like they're trying to live up to the "tough fans" image.

Sometimes it feels like losing has become a self-fulfilling prophecy in Philly.

This. I'm certainly guilty of it, too. But Pederson seems like a decent guy and there will be plenty of time to rip him if he fails. If he does fail, it will probably be because he can't coach and not because he's an egomaniac who destroys the roster and the locker room. So for now, I'm going to root for the guy and hope for the best.

500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

I don't find it pointless in the least to voice concern over a new HC making a response that is one of the nitwit-iest answers to why you weren't hurrying two scores down that I've ever fucking heard.

He's repeating Andy Reid's explanation, pretty much verbatim.

There's no way Reid didn't call the plays in that situation. And there's no way Pederson is going to contradict the man responsible for giving him his shot.

The discussion about this particular answer seems to me to be the essence of pointlessness.

Has anybody suggested Pederphiles? If not, I own it.

Yeah, and Pederson basically endorsed FFery ... a tree from which I'd be concerned he's not falling far.

Because he didn't throw his mentor under a speeding train, he's endorsing abysmal clock management?

                                I think that's a stretch.
