They traded up to get him. Back then they had more picks than they do now and less holes to fill.
I'm for movement in general. Back, up whatever. But with a lack of ammo this year and the depth issues (and glaring issues at other key spots) they really need as many picks as they can muster this draft.
Less holes to fill? In 2011?
No QB, No safeties, no LBs, 1 CB (Asante), no RT, no DEs worth a damn and no DTs in 2011. I think the only position that was good was WR.
I just figure that the less they have to think about who to pick, the better.

2011 had Shady, desean, peters, resurrected Mike Vick (1,000x the QB of anyone we have now) , Mathis, Kelce, DANNY WATKINS, Trent Cole all performing at high levels in their prime. 2016 has Fletcher Cox and that's damn near all you can count on.
I am having a hard time remembering an Eagles team this old, this devoid of talent almost across the board on Offense, this depleted and shitty on the OL.
Makes some of the lines of the mid 80's look solid.

You can thank Chump "Genius" Kelly for this debacle
