Yeah, he's definitely following the JoeLo mode of locking up players - especially locking up younger players early on. He's good there. And it seems he's good at knowing where players are likely to be taken in the draft.

But I'm concerned with his talent evaluation. That is highly suspect. And having nobody else around to act as a check on that is troubling. What's even more troubling is that he doesn't want anyone else around and appears to actively look to sabotage anyone else who might have talent. What's most troubling is that Lurie allows it to happen.

      Sabotage

I am not a Roseman lover, let's get that out now. However, when you say he is trying to sabotage others, where is the proof? Is he a great talent evaluator, I don't know and regardless of what anyone on the message board thinks, they donm't truly know either. His inability to work with people, and his lack of popularity, doesn't seem to spread to the players and agents he has done deals with. It's actually been pretty impressive to get all this done in this short of a period of time. Now unless I miss my guess, Cox will get a deal done and then the same people who hate him will start to love him. Like someone else said, let's see what happens draft weekend and where things stand at the end of the year. Unless something has changed, there is only one team that wins the last game of the season. The Eagles are just one of the teams that have never won that game. The irony there is that all the old coaches, GMs, etc never won it either. So why are they so great? Continually 10 or 11 win seasons are nice but if one of those wins doesn't come in Feb it really doesn't matter.

Tom Gamble. Chip Kelly (although he did enough on his own). Why do you think nobody wants to work with him? It's not because he's not good at his job...

          So you're saying

I never said he was good at every part of his job. As for Chip Kelly and all the stupid things he did that was because of Roseman? Roseman was banished when the Murray fiasco went down. As well as when two guards were released without suitable replacements on the roster, or even any were drafted. I believe it was Kelly who gave up Foles and a 2nd round pick for Bradford. Can't recall when Cooper got his extension so I won't put that on Chip. So now how exactly did Roseman sabotage Chip? This team is far worse of than it was at the end of 2014.

No, I'm saying Howie was instrumental in Gamble being fired because he was a threat. That's a fact. And as I said in my last post, Chip did enough to get himself canned but Howie was in Lurie's ear enough to help usher that along.

Roseman has exhibited a pattern of behavior which has resulted in nobody wanting to work with him. Another fact. It's not a secret. The only person who doesn't seem to notice (or care) is Lurie.

              Fact

you use the word fact a lot. This would seem to imply you work int he building, or have a pipeline to what's going on in the building. If I remember correctly, Roseman was booted out of personnel completely and Chip was given the keys to everything player related. Now to back track and say Roseman was in Lurie's ear seems a bit strange. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Kelly win that power struggle last off season? How exactly does that show Roseman was in Lurie's ear? It's pointless to try to figure out either way. I will give Roseman all the credit in the world for getting all these extensions taken care of in a very small amount of time. So again I say this. The players he has resigned, and the agents that represent them, must not hate him or find him impossible to work with. To be honest I don't give a crap who is in charge of the draft or FA as long as they get it right. Oh and on that note, free agency and the draft are both HUGE crapshoots. Remember the dream team? They were great players who sucked in Philly. And if you really want to know how big a crap shoot the draft is I have two words. Manning, Leaf. Or maybe three words. Brady sixth round. Hell for that matter let's do the coaching crap shoot too. Belichick or however it is spelled, Pete Carroll was an abject failure his first go round after a good college career. I wonder how people would judge you in your job.....

I have a pipeline into the building. You should space your paragraphs.

good that you have a pipeline.

and to be honest, i could give a crap less about spacing my paragraphs.

All you have to do is look at the Tom Gamble situation for proof of that.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

You don't seem to be able to. Howie's locking down the core of the team to cap friendly contracts and you're complaining. Who gives a fkkk about Tom Gamble? He was nothing more than Chump's chump.

That's not reassuring to me at all. If Lurie uses the "don't judge a draft for 3 years" barometer we could easily have 4 more years of Roseman ineptitude before changes are made. Might get demoted to the CFL by then.

Maybe the 2020's are our area to fly like a mighty Phoenix.
