  • New Dodge Charger

when was the last time we had a car thread?

So Im in Florida the week before last and needed a rental and long lines and "cheap and available" got me into a bright red, new Dodge Charger with low miles.

Having grown up with American muscle cars I knew the old one...did not even know it was still being made.

Gotta tell you I was impressed. Tight, very responsive steering, surprisingly good on gas, a lot of fun to drive.

could not believe all the Stangs I saw in Fla. and Cali

rarely see one around here. But where driving is king you see tons of them.

Fave car I ever owned was a 69 Stang, followed closely by a 64 Olds F-85

I'm planning to restore an old mustang in retirement

68 or 69. Have no idea what I'm doing so it will prolly be a disaster but should keep me busy

          nice

they are way too light for the engine power and paper thin. Dont get in an accident. But way fun.

Trans Am reboot is pretty cool

Bandit Rides Again! Are you a fan of Camaros or Firebirds? You'll want to take a look at this Trans Am "Transmaro" conversion from the 2016 New York auto show.

I like looking at the Mechum inventory when it comes to Harrisburg. A lot of cool stuff there.

I love those auctions on tv

Never been to one live. Bet it would be easy to get swept up into bidding on something

Ive been meaning to go to the one in Harrisburg since I've been in Lancaster. I work with a few gear heads and I try to pick their brains when I can. Always wish I knew more about cars. Just check out the website. You can get cool old cars for less than 10k. Plenty of cheap cars that you could pick up to tinker with.

Drove one of those in Zona last year, and it was okay. My usual concern is about how I fit in a car. These days, car companies are constantly shrinking the size of the cabins. But my son and I fit pretty comfortably in that car.

                      I would never buy one

for me a car is transport and I need the proven reliability of a toyota or honda...but that car really surprised me, admittedly driving it for less than a week.

I hate to think how it would work in our climate. My (somewhat) old Mustang was pretty unusable in snow, ice, and hell...even heavy rain. Which is one reason I got rid of it. These days I'm more about utility and space - and yes, reliability - which explains my Toyota minivan.

                          That's the plan

If I rebuild a motor and it actually runs I'd be amazed
